Happiness Is The Road
We did sleep like logs and felt far more refreshed today. We got up late as we were having a chill day today before heading to Sydney tomorrow. Around lunch time we went for a walk into the town. We took some photos first of the lovely old bridge near the camp site and then we walked into town which took about twenty minutes. It is a lovely laid back and cute little place and we had a mooch around the shops and had a look at all the options for lunch. There were a lot of nice cafes but we opted to eat at the pub as they had beer! We hadn't had a pub beer for ages. They had a really great menu in the pub and for Australia the prices weren't that bad. Jay had a beef burger but I ordered the alpaca burger. I have never eaten alpaca before so I just had to try it. I just love trying new meats so if there is ever something on a menu that I've not tried before I'll give it a go. We had some beer whilst we were waiting for the food. We needed cooling down as it was hot and humid again today. The food was excellent an the alpaca was very beefy. After eating we had another beer each and with the lovely 'warm fuzzies' kicking in we toddled back to the camp site. We heard thunder rumbling in the distance all the way back. A good storm was definitely needed to clear this humidity. Most of the time the heat in Australia is of the dry kind and even when very hot not that uncomfortable but this humid stuff is like those occasional hot and sticky days in the UK. The storm properly rolled through later on and it lashed it down with rain. We went to bed dreaming of Sydney.
