Pietermaritzburg - Dec 5 - 6
For Paul and I staying in the hotel meant a long sleep in, well long compared to when the birds wake you up while camping. For Dave and Kaz it meant getting up early to make sure they were at the doors of Home Affairs when it opened at 8am!I decided to take the opportunity to check out the internet, unfortunately this was to lead to a bad start to my day, on checking my Egg Visa I discovered that someone had been using it in Cape Town and had managed to rack up a total of more than 550 pounds, it was not my day!First task of the day for us was to find an international phone card and get onto Egg!As we were leaving the hotel at about 10 we got some good news, Dave and Kaz now had visa's in there passports!!After a bad start at Home Affairs where they were told it would take days they finally found someone who understood their situation and didn't see the need for all of the mountains of paper work as they had there original visa's on computer!
It continued to rain as I found a pay phone and contacted Egg, with everything cancelled and Egg looking into the transactions I relaxed a little, surely our luck had to change soon!
We checked out tourist info and then headed to a Camp World to try and get the tent poles fixed properly and then we set out towards Dundee! This was one of my choices, would it be anything like the Dundee I'd grown up near in Scotland?!?
