Phew! Full Irish breakfast this morning and slung the last of our bits and pieces into our bags - off to Dublin for a day looking at the Christmas decorations and lights and decompressing before we launch off to Lisbon, Portugal tomorrow (for the very first time). It was a grey old day in Dublin which was perfect for our purposed because it was essentially dark by 4.30 pm - all the better for seeing the lovely Christmas lights. We were full from dinner and breakfast - so made it to 4.30 pm for a very early tea at Leo Burdocks of Temple Bar. Founded in 1913, it's our go to place in Dublin for Fresh Cod & Chips... aaahhh... first official non-home-made fish and chips in over two months - bliss. Had a great walk all over the centre of Dublin enjoying the Grafton and Henry Street lights and came across an incredible band in Grafton Street doing covers of Dire Straits, the Beatles etc... Incredible musicians - they looked homeless, but we've not heard skill like it since we saw Dire Straits in concert. Huge crowd gathered to listen and we nipped off for our fish and chips after about 45 minutes... then came back and kept listening. Loads of 'Black Friday' sales on this weekend and poeple were Christmas shopping like made. Back at the hotel finally, foot sore and weary - but very conscious it's only 7 pm. Surely we can make it out to a Christmas market? Maybe not... travel day tomorrow then a week going crazy in Lisbon. Might do to have a rest...
