Another Day!! It almost feels like I belong here in Siem Reap after nearlly a week here I feel myself settling into little routines and finding comfort in the repetitive nature of things. I have my breakfast, do some exercises and then race to town; not wanting to waste another day. I find myself wandering the markets looking for gifts; finding them; rationalizing why I can or can't buy and then inevitably moving on to the next shop. After a long day I had managed to add a few more gifts to my now expanding 2nd Carry on bag - no checked baggage when heading home!! Feeling like I had achieved something I relaxed the rest of the day watching a good thinking/drama film called I Origins. In the evening it was time for another food hunting expedition in search of good, cheap local Khmer cuisine. After a dash around the central market I was back to my now favorite local spot which has about 7 small sellers selling to 100s of rushing in customers. Tonight I went for a fish salad, fish pattys and a small piece off sweet BBQ duck to take back to the hostel and enjoy. On the way back I stumbled across a small whole in the wall resteraunt selling my favorite rice paper spring rolls and a little old lady squeezing palm sugar juice. So in the end I ended up with not only a huge feast but a great sampling of local cuisine for about $2.50.
