We left early this morning and my uncle drove us to Cambeltown south of Launceston. His former house is here and he has another car. So we used his small car to drive to Hobart.
We had a walk around the city. It is much busier than Launceston and more modern with a few high rise buildings. When we booked into the hotel it was suggested we took a trip to Mount Wellington. So we did and it was well worth it. It was about a half hour drive up the mountain to the Pinnacle at the top. Luckily it wasn't a windy day! The views were absolutely stunning. We could see all over Hobart and south east Tasmania including some islands. We were so pleased the hotel proprietor told us about it.
On the way down Mick spotted a snake on the road but it quickly slid into the bushes. Mick thinks it was a dugite and if they bite you have to have the anti-venom treatment. Mick thinks it was about four feet long but you know how men exagerrate!!
Tomorrow we set off back to Launceston but along the eastern coast which will take twice as long.
