I've been looking for more permanent and less populated accommodation since i arrived and scoured every publication and website on the subject. After viewing a few unsuitables (one in Coogee which sounded ideal cos it rhymes with Jugee and is by the beach!) and starting to feel like the rest of my life would be spent in hostel hell - cold fried egg in the plughole and everyone else's rancid trainers surrounding my bed - i finally struck gold.

Yesterday i moved into the flat of a lovely Irish girl called Dervla. She's been here for years and is right at home in her not so little city pad. The building is one of those proper serviced apartment blocks with a concierge and a pool and sauna and gym and a garbage chute! There's a huge balcony that runs the length of the apartment with french doors off my room. I have my own bathroom and it's just so perfect.

The room is a twin and i will be sharing will someone else but no-one's moved in yet so it's all mine for a while at least. I just feel like it's the most luxurious thing in the world after the way i've been living for nine months and the best part is it's all so affordable. The price is the same as the weekly rate in the hostel amazingly and bills are all included. Fantastic!
