Day 42 Sunday 22/09 Metsovo 16 deg Cloudy -

Judy here...After a leisurely breakfast of egg, homemade bread, jams, spanakopita and the best cup of tea in a while, we headed off to explore this quaint village which clings to a mountain side 1200 mtrs above sea level and is over 2000 years old. Our accommodation is new and extremely comfortable and built in the traditional style of the village, with lots of wood. We checked out craft shops, cake shops and coffee shops. We then ended up at the local winery, where we had a tour of the winery followed by a tasting, which we all really enjoyed. Strolled back to our hotel for a champagne, then to dinner which was a traditional meal of pasta veal ragu and meatballs with leeks, delicious. We are getting good value for our Aussie dollar. Back to our hotel for a massage in the massage chairs which was a hoot! A most enjoyable and relaxing day.
