The storms cleared the air so there was a bright fresh feel to the day - but as it got warmer the flies and tetse flies definitely became more active!
The dawn light allowed some great pictures of the lions - the mum and 5 cubs were still close to where we left them yesterday.( today's photo is the little one in the morning light.)
We then spotted black backed jackals, giraffes, bat eared foxes, dwarf mongooses and vervet monkeys - which I was able to take a nice silhouette picture of. On the bird front we saw a white browed coucal, a great spotted cuckoo and a grey breasted spur fowl which is very beautiful and endemic to this area......we originally thought they were the normal red necked spurfowl but were put right by Jacob who is an up and coming bird expert.
After a session learning to edit we went for another drive - there seemed less about but we did get out of the vehicle and try a ground shot of giraffe. We also spotted golden jackal ( soon to be called wolf!) steenbok, hyena and plains game.
In the evening we experimented with some star photography - a new departure for me and good fun to try.
