At 0710 our last walk set off for the 13km walk back to camp - slightly longer according to my fit bit, probably because we had to negotiate our way around pans which still had water in them. It was a lovely varied walk along the river, through wooded areas, over granite kopies and through the last section of long dry grass, whose seeds still sneaked down my gaiters and into my socks, on the climb back to camp. Our walk today ventured even further downstream - we had great views of the river and water birds - but interestingly saw fresh human footprints which was apparently the sign of local fish poachers which Moli later reported to the authorities. Overnight we heard lions roaring so we knew the predators were around. After breakfast we headed out on our walk exploring the western side of the park. We dodged and watched Ellie's without them knowing we were there - the favourable wind and trusty dust bag made sure we were invisible to them.
