We were up before 4am as we had to catch the 5.15am train from Cambridge to London as our flight to Nairobi was a 1040 departure. When we arrived at Kings Cross we used the lift as we were struggling with 4 bags - 2 for us and two for the schools in Laikipia which we were leaving at the Hilton, in Nairobi for collection by Bush and Beyond the next day.
We made it, and as I jumped on the first train which said Heathrow terminals 123& 5 on the display board it actually said Northfields on the front and that's where it it stopped. So we got off and stood on the platform, with many others, and waited for the next train - we were slightly confused as they split the trains between 2 platforms - confusion over we arrived at Heathrow terminal 5 and went to the lounge in 5B for breakfast before boarding our flight. Arrival in Nairobi was effortless - the fire meant a temporary immigration but there were 10 manned desks for visas so we breezed through - that's a first - and a welcome change. We had to wait a while for our luggage but as we exited we booked a taxi and then I found an ATM and Safaricom to get a sim for my iPad. Next stop the Hilton and bed.
( Today's photo is of a sunset on the Masai Mara - rain was in the air and there was more cloud than normal leading to very different skies.)
