Its Tuesday 2nd Decemeber and day 2 of my organised week. Yesterday we went into Sydney Centre and walked through the botanical gardens to a sighseeing point to look across at sydney harbour bridge and the opera house. We then walked towards the operal house and got to see it up front. I never realised it was made of 3 separate buildings, each playing host to different things such as music, restaurants etc. We then left to go jet boating, a red speed boat with a shark face on the front and taking about 20. Normal people get a large red poncho to wear but ozintro policy that we don't get one! The boat took us around the harbour, cutting across chopping water and spinning the boat...needless to say we were all completly soaked by the time we got off!
We then, very wet took a bus tour around the city to be shown the sights. I didnt get to see as much as i'd like but plenty of time for this. So much of Sydney mirrors things from London. There's Hyde Park, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Kings Cross! (although this is the red light district!)
The weather was lovely again yesterday and glorious this morning. Still haven't burnt which i'm glad about, i have a little colour on me which is nice :). I managed to sleep later for the first time today, 7am wake up which was nice!
Off for todays activities now, either a trip to the aquarium or the wild life centre.
Back from Sydney now, so hot today, around 27/28 degrees, think I'm looking browner already! today we looked around darling harbour which seems to be the posh side of town, lovely bars, restaurants and plenty of big fancy boats. I decided to look around the wildlife centre which houses all kinds of animals/insects/reptiles from across Australia. Finally got to see some Koala's and Kangaroos upfront. So cute and cuddly! Although not really! The Koalas have vicious claws and a bit of a bite and there pretty fragile. Their bone structure is very delicate so if you were to give them a squeeze you are more than likely going to break their ribs. They also can't do much exercise because they don't eat enough and sleep for 20 hours a day! luckily we saw some up and about. The kangaroos were pretty laid back but again can become violent. they use their tail as a third leg to balance on so they can lean back and kick you with both hind legs (which are massive!). Some species also grow to be as big, if not bigger than 2metres!
We're heading into Sydney tonight for a night out, a dubious looking place although apparently cheap and cheerful with dancing on the bars. Luckily for me i've been nominated to be the one up there in celebration of my 21st at 12am! Cannot believe it's my 21st tomorrow, its meant to be as hot as today, if not hotter :D We're heading down the coast to learn to surf tomorrow which i can't wait for. Hopefully by the end of the day i'll have managed to stand up!!
