I left Sydney on the 3rd on the Greyhound bus for Port Macquarie. The bus was late and got delayed during travel so no different to being back in England! i got to Port Macquarie around 3 hours late but found i was staying at a lovely little hostel, ozzie pozzie. Small and family run with a little outside bbq and courtyard with a small pool. I visited the Koala Hospital, a voluntry run reserve helping injured and homeless koalas back to health or just giving them a new home. The hospital had around 15 koalas, some blind, some injured from car accidents, others left homeless because of new developments being built by the local counsil. One also had Clamydia which is apparently a very comment problem amongst Koalas! We had a tour around the hospital and watched them get fed so they were all happily wide awake. I took a walk around the harbour and the creek. A breakwall runs along the harbour wall. People have pained the rocks along the breakwall with various messages, poems and general crap but it looks pretty cool all the same.

I spent one day doing the coastal walk which ran along the beaches from Port Macquarie south towards the lighthouse. It was such a hot day with only a slight see breeze so it was pretty tough going but so worth it. The beachers were really beautiful, many seculded and several with little rock pools around them.

I left for Coffs Harbour on the 6th
