P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney......Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...........
So our Asia adventure is over. It's crazy how quickly it has flown by. We have now started our Australia adventure in Sydney.
We arrived on Sunday evening and met up with Caroline (from about 6 weeks earlier in Chiang Mai and Pai) at our hostel. We went for some food and I got my first steak and chips for 10 Aussie dollars (£7). It was amazing. After a couple of game of cards we headed to bed ready for our big day the next day. On Monday we met Caroline at 9.30, went to the supermarket, made a packed lunch and headed off on our walking tour of the city. We went through Hyde Park, up through the Botanic Gardens, to the Sydney Opera House, through Circular Quay, through the Rocks and over the Harbour Bridge. The view of the city from the other side of the bridge was amazing.
About 7 hours after leaving we got back, all pretty tired so chilled out in our rooms until dinner and then played some drinking games. We had our first taste of goon (boxed wine which costs about £10 for 4 litres). It wasn't too bad but apparently everyone says that at first. We headed out to a bar called Side Bar which had a student night. Student prices were $5.40 dollars (£3.50) a pint. After a messy night we headed back. We eventually left the room yesterday at about 2pm and Pete went for a walk around Darling Harbour area but I was feeling too rough and tired so just chilled with Caroline and a couple of others. A chilled out evening of uploading photos before bed and today we have just gone to the airport to catch a flight to Melbourne. We are literally landing as I type this.
We are staying at Matts (Pete's mate) and meeting up with Steve and Dan. The four of us then fly up to Cairns where we have hired a car and have 3 weeks to drive back to Sydney.
Will keep you posted on our Australia adventure. Hope everyone is good.
