You can leave your hat on........
Right, I wasn't going to right a blog for Byron Bay as we were staying there for two nights and spending the day on a trip to Nimbin but it was too eventful to leave out.
On Monday we arrived in Byron from Brisbane and got ourselves comfy in our hostel. We stayed at the Arts Factory Lodge and it was a really cool hippy hostel. We checked in and had a few drinks. Simon, a guy I met in Argentina last year, and one of his mates came and met us for a few at our hostel before we all headed out. All except Steve who crashed out before we left - something to do with a dodgy chilli con carne.
We arrived at Cheeky Monkeys, a bar we were told anything goes and you can't get chucked out of there. Challenge accepted by Dan. Shortly after we arrived Dan got on the tables, where everyone dances, and started to remove some clothes. When he got down to his boxers one of the bouncers told him to put his clothes back on. He followed the orders but about half an hour later he was back up on the tables and completely naked. At this point, the bouncers told him he had to leave and had 5 seconds to find his clothes. Pete, who had his clothes managed to disappear at this point.
I left the club to find a naked Dan just outside. We started heading back to the hostel with him demanding my shorts. Just as I was about to give in it was too late. The police arrived. Luckily for Dan they found it hilarious. After having a chuckle they offered to drive him back. Not in the back of the car but in the cage in the boot. Watching them put him in the cage and lock him in was one of the funniest things I have seen ever. I headed back in and Simon dropped me back at our hostel. Bare in mind, I was dropped off at half 12 so this all happened very quickly. I walked into the hostel, completely straight faced, I walked up to reception and asked "have the police dropped off the naked guy yet?". "yes. He's upstairs." Off I went to find him. By this point he had some clothes so it was difficult to recognise him. We walked back into town to find his clothes as his passport and wallet were in the pockets. We found them and headed back via the kebab shop.
An eventful night to say the least. If you fancy giving it go the instructions are below.
Step 1: Enter a club where anything goes
Step 2: Attempt to get naked on tables (if you succeed in getting naked go to step 3 and if you fail return to step 2 and try again).
Step 3: Dance naked until bouncers chuck you out.
Step 4: Wonder around streets begging people for clothes
Step 5: Wait for police to arrive and prey they are nice
Crashed out when we got back and today spent the day in Nimbin before we head down to Sydney tomorrow.
Hope everyone is well
