Planet of the apes.......
So we have just had 3 nights in Kuala Lumpur and I've really enjoyed it. We stayed in Chinatown and splashed out on a nicer hostel called Reggae Guest House. Really clean, friendly staff, air-con, wi-fi in the rooms and we got a private room. We got there really late on the 2nd and just went on the internet before crashing out. The next day we got up quite late and went for a Chinese lunch. Really nice beef with black bean sauce. We dropped off our laundry and then I decided to buy a new camera. We went into a shop and managed to barter 25% off the original price to get a great deal. After this we went and had a look around the city a bit before just chilling at the hostel for a couple hours. We went for dinner at the Reggae Bar next door and the Wimbledon final before calling it a night.
The next day we got up at a reasonable time and headed to the Batu Caves. When we arrived there was a temple at the bottom and after walking around this we headed up the 272 steps to the main temple which was situated inside the cave. Once we got to the top we had a look around the caves and headed to the back towards where the main temple was. We didn't really look round the main temple because we got distracted taking photos of monkeys. There were so many monkeys looking for food and drink. One even had the end of a 7up. After a bit of a walk round getting the best photos of monkeys we could we headed back down the stairs and headed back into Kuala Lumpur.
We had one more night in KL but not in the Reggae Guesthouse. Last night we were Flashpacking again. This time was the 5* Sheraton Imperial and it was incredible. Thanks mum. We were on the 33rd floor and as you can see from the photos the view was incredible. We chilled out and went and visited the Petronas Towers (currently biggest twin towers in the world). After a great nights sleep we eventually got up and checked out at about 4 and headed to the KL tower where you can get a 360 degree of the city. Some great views but as we arrived it started to cloud over a bit.
After the KL tower we headed to get a bus to the Perhentian Islands and that is where we are now.
Hope everyones good
