We arrived in the village of Addo eventually after taking some wrong turnings because we got carried away with singing along to songs from Luke's phone. This meant we had to go on some interesting dirt roads and generally the scenic route. This backpackers was a tented dorm which was cool to try. We were the only ones in our dorm which was a shame but there were other people around. We then tried some Kudu steaks at a restaurant nearby and some local craft beer which was really brilliant!
The next day we left to see some elephants!! We were advised to go straight to a specific watering hole and there were elephants there! It was so brilliant to see them so soon. As we were driving away from the watering hole, we turned around a corner and there was a massive elephant walking down the road straight towards us! This was terrifying, especially as we were in such a small car!! Luckily these elephants are used to cars and we managed to get off without any trouble whatsoever. Later on after some very scenic drives through the national park, avoiding the many dung beetles rolling balls along the roads, we saw some buffalo, leopard tortoises, terapins, Kudu (yum) and more elephants! A very sucessful day.
Next stop Jeffry's bay!
