Yarimanguas to Tarapoto to Moyobamba
We arrived to Yarimanguas in the morning and Bert and I jumped in the back of the pick up heading to Tarapoto. This was an absolute crazy ride with 11 people plus all the gear crammed in the back of this truck driving down a twisty tourney mountainous highway! Everybody made it except for one guy trying to smuggle in an exotic monkey from the jungle, he was taken off the truck and arrested by the police. Justice is served...
For the last I don't know 40 or 50 km of the 125km ride I rode on the back of the truck as it was much more comfortable.
We made it to Tarapoto, had lunch and then hopped in a taxi to Moyobamba, who was just as crazy of a driver as I've ever seen! But we made it alive, and on the way into town we passed what looked like a big fair so decided to maybe visit that later on.
We found a nice place to stay dumped the bags and went for a bit of a walkabout the city. Later on we ended up going back to the fair which was neat to see.
