Waterfall hike......
There was another waterfall and pool within hiking distance of the hostel, so Sebastian Julia and I decided to hike to it. We didn't leave as early as we had hoped and it was quite a hot daY to go hiking in the jungle. We made it to the river where we had thought the waterfall was but we couldn't find it, so we all made a decision to keep walking up the mountain. Well I guess about a kilometre into our hike up a very steep road, we came to the conclusion that we were going the wrong way! Plus I had a bad feeling that we were going to stumble upon somebody's grow up and get killed.... Lol
We ended up going back to where we had just come from, and there was a local man there with his children who told us "oh yeah it's just over there"...... Which it was! So we spent a couple hours hanging at the waterfall and then trekked up the river a little bit to our own nice private pools. We made a decision to leave to try to hike to the other pools, probably not the smartest decision at 1:30 in the afternoon on it extremely hot day! So I guess less than halfway there walking up the steep mountain hills, we ran into Michael, one of my roomies from the dorm. Everybody said they remembered our names because we were Michael JordOn.... Lol
Well Michael said that the pools were still at least an hour away walking uphill and they weren't so nice anyway, So we made the tough decision to turn around and walk back. I spent an hour back at the waterfall close to the hostel cooling off from the long trek. Even though we didn't make it to the second destination it was still a great day!!!
