The poor knights islands are one of the top ten diving spots in the world so i just had to dive here, i booked myself on a boat trip and left Auckland at 5 in the morning to get there and arrived 5 mins late and missed the boat!!!!doh!!!! So it was either drive back to Auckland and miss a chance of a lifetime or stay up here on my own so i booked myself in to a hostel for the night and booked a dive for the next morning. Where the plae i was staying was a specialist diving hostel and the owner asked me if i wanted to go out cray fish diving with him and his mates cos i had never done this before i said yeah it was really interesting but the water was freezing, i stayed in a dorm room but luckily i had it all to myself that night
The next morning i made the boat this time on the way out to the poor knights we were followed by 2 dolphins so the captain stopped the boat so we could all have a snorkel with them , the first dive was really amazing and i went into a sea cave for the first time. On the way to the 2nd dive the captain stopped the boat again and out in the distance we could all see a fin.........the jaw soundtrack was going off in my head, we got the boat closer and saw a hammerhead shark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We then got told our dive site was about 10m away eeekkk! Luckily the shark swam off in the opposite direction, on our next dive we went to a place called stingray alley, i dived into a cravace and as i lay on my back all these stingrays were swimming above me so close i could almost touch them it was really amazing and prob the best dive ive done in my life.
So now i have dived in one of the best places in the world
