Hey everyody! Cheers for all the messages to everyone that's posted. I haven't been the best at emailing you all. For that I apologise but I will still try to put postcards on the net when i get a chance. Email in Fiji was not really happening as the internet hasn't really hit the place. Still it's a sleepy little group of islands 1500 miles from the nearest land mass (and that's only New Zealand) so it's not really surprising. Fiji was really beautiful and very laid back. Lots of friendly people trying to sell this island trip and this car and that shirt and this Kava (a strong local drink made from roots.) The first Island was very touristy so I left with a couple of travelling companions and hired a car on the mainland which we drove round the island to a wonderful little hostel right on the beach called predictably 'The Beach House'.The sunsets were beautiful but the mozzies were out in full force so i got bitten to shreds. At least there is no malaria or such like in Fiji. Unfortunately i did get food poisoning! Teh upside was i spent an interesting day in a tiny Fijian hospital where I was treated very well and put on the road to recovery. I just flew in to new Zealand yesterday from Fiji. I am currently in a beast of a backpacker hostel called the ACB which has space for about 500 of us along with an internet cafe, travel shop, 2 bars and the usual kitchens and laundry. I will spend gthe next couple of days deciding how to get about and then make a move down the way til I eventually reach Christychurch in the South Island. Hope you are all Ok.
