Hey all. Just arrived in Fiji after an overnight flight from LA. Taking it slow today as there is a national hliday and there was a power outage an hour after I landed. A guy on the street tried to sell me a Bula (like a sarong) from his shop. I wasn't going to but it was only FJ$12 (about 4 pounds), so I relented. It's very hot here so I will probably ditch the shorts and trousers and stick with the Bula. I will be heading out on a boat to a local island in about an hour to relax under the palm trees after a few days of hard hiking in Yosemite Park. Things are very laid back and that's just what I need! Better not miss the boat - it's about the only thing here that uns on regular time rather than 'Fiji time'. Over and out, Jonny.
