Hello Everyone.
We spent the day traveling to Chiang Rai. A nice guy at the bus stop told us a nice guesthouse for cheap so we went there to book two nights.
That night we went to the Central Plaza to look around all the shops and grab some tea. Jonny ended up buying a pair of trainers since he had to bin his last ones as they smelt really really bad haha. We had a nice Chinese style tea where we got to cook our own food a BBQ style grill on our table, it was really good.
The following day we did our usual. Rented a moped to go and see all the sights. Our first stop was a temple just outside the city. It was amazing, so unusual. It was white and covered in crystals/glass, so beautiful in the sunshine, its up there with Grand Palace and the one in Chiang Mai at the top of the hill.
We then decided to go see a waterfall that hopefully didn't involve a 3 hour trek through the jungle. It turned out to be quite far away, after a good half hour drive we got to the entrance. It was a further 1,500 meter walk through the jungle, which didn't seem a lot but when its up hill, it is. Shay always gets scared of tigers jumping out at her, but she wasn't too bad this time haha.
When we reached the waterfall....WOW. It was massive, it was something in between 100 and 150ft tall. The wind and water spraying from it soaked us. So refreshing to stand beside it after the trek. We got some really good photos then Jonny decided to become Spiderman and try to climb up a rock beside the waterfall to get a photo, however, in the process he managed to loose a flip flop in the water. So Shay was running after it in the fast running stream trying to catch it, luckily it stuck in the rocks. That wouldn't have been fun walking back through the jungle with one flip flop haha, so the Spiderman antics quickly came to a halt after that.
By the time we got back to Chiang Rai we had a very late lunch and called it a day. The following day we were setting off to a place called Chang Sean to spend one night before saying bye bye Thailand and hello Laos.
