Arrived here for a spot of lunch at a nice arty farty cafe in the main drag. Leaves us only 80 ks for the day. Good to get the majority out of the way early.

Nice kick off this morning. We have around 410 ks to Ilfracombe today. But a nice morning coffee at Fanny Mae's after the first 120 ks is a welcome stop. No roos or goats on the road.

Arrived in Augathella Qld which was 83 ks ahead of schedule. This was to shorten the big run to Longreach tomorrow. You cannot belive our horror to find the camping ground there was such a disaster due to poor ground quality we had to get an air conditioned cabin with an en suite and tv. To make matters worse it is attached to the local pub. We tried and tried to hammer the tent pegs in but it just wouldnt happen. So we are making do with our surroundings. Bikes ...

Late morning launch nice and relaxed. Had a nice brekky and then started camp pack up. We are already talking about what we can send back home. Hit the highway. We found that our blog site is not emailing so we will try and facebook the blog. We are currently in Charleville QLD where i initially intended to camp but we thought we would push on another 83 ks to Augathella to shorten tomorrows ride.

We left Darry's abode to the nearby border of QLD. A couple pf pics and off we went. There was a massive amount of kangaroo roadkill with up to 40 per klm. Apparently not recommended driving at dusk. Warily we made our way through to Cunnamulla and ended up at the Riverside C/van park. We set up camp and rushed back into town to the pub for a quick few beers and some groceries.
