We’re up at 6:30am. Off to view the monasteries on Mount Athos. There are a number these on both sides of the peninsula .These monasteries are for men only and only male livestock as well. I laugh at this ,strange to be sure. I say view, as you can only see them from the boat that takes 60 people and we would have been 350 metres off shore then throw in the height and it’s a long, long way away. If you are into the religious orders or you are thinking about becoming a Frier or a Monk then you need to catch a ferry not spectator boat . Summary, good but not mind blowing.

The second part of this cruise turn out to be the real winner. Lunch on island which in it self won the day. Greek salad, French fries and wood fired grilled snapper which was deboned right before our eyes. This was a magic meal.

Well time to go as the eyes have had it:2 hr bus drive there and back and 4 hrs in the sea breeze and swimming and we are both done .

Another early start tomorrow, we’re going on a train ride.
