Day 2 of the amboseli safari started at 8.00 am ,within minutes of the drive which would take 2hrs to reach our destination we were surrounded by the favourite animals ,giraffes, gazelles ,dic dics, zebras, all of this happen in just 10 minutes.
After that we didn't see any more animals but we did see more bird life , until we reached the other side of the park. Our drivers plan was to reach the other side of the park as all the animals made their way to the massive watering hole.Andrew timing was impeccable ,as we moved closer and closer to our destination the more wilder beast, zebras Thomas gazelle, grant gazelle, impalas, and two of the big five, elephants in their hundreds ,families of 20 to 30,old young and of course babies of around six months for Shirley and I this was like watching the animals walk into the ark but only greater numbers. The other that was there in big numbers was the hippo, we watch as they chomped on the water grass and it reminded me of the game "hungry hippo", the longer we waited the more animals that appeared,12female ostriches followed by 5 males strutting their to the females ,a water buck,s flamingos, golden pelicans , a golden jackal, it was such powerful statement from nature.
This is certainly the high light of our safari ,could it get any better ,I think it could be impossible.
Tomorrow we leave for our next safari destination ,we travel to Nairobi by small bus then fly to Masai Mara
We are having a whale of a time, hope all are well,
Luv Shirley &John .
