The Farewell in Johannesburg suddenly makes our imminent departure very real! We enjoyed an evening with about 50 friends and family and were very pleased to have Mike and Jeanette van Ginkel (they of Cape to Cairo & London in their Rolls Royce Silver Spirit fame) with us. Thanks to them for their encouragement and their efforts to put the minds of family and friends at rest with regards to what we are about to embark on.

Thanks to all who came for their good wishes and momentos - both functional and amusing - for the trip ahead.
