However, this was offset by the warmth of World Cup fever which was already gripping South Africa in our absence and certainly came to a head in the days leading up to the opening of the World Cup on 11 June 2010. CAPE TOWN (27th to 31st October 2009) A largely uneventful trip down to Cape Town,other than the ostrich with suicidal tendencies that we collected on our bull bar at about 40km an hour. The Farewell in Johannesburg suddenly makes our imminent departure very real!
