The end of September we did a diving trip to Mocambique to Tartaruga Maritima Luxury Tented Camp near Ponta Mamoli, partly to get back into the water and partly for Marina to complete her Advance Scuba course in preparation for the Red Sea.

Our compliments to Ryan Cox from Ocean Explorers ([email protected]) for the arrangements and conducting the course at very short notice.

John also completed a Nitrox Course (diving with oxygen enriched air) and has just completed a trip to Sodwana (in the north east coast of SA) with Ryan from Ocean Explorers to dive with nitrox.

We decided to leave Mocambique off our Cape to Cairo trip, reason being that Mocambique is our neighbour and having visited most of our immediate neighbours like Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mocambique we decided to spend more time in east and north Africa. Having said that Marina has already started drafting together an overland trip from the southern point of Mocambique right up to the northern tip with Tanzania for probably late next year when we get back or early 2011. Aim is to visit this beautiful country and dive along the way. Marina would also like to visit Nampula in northern Mocambique - she was born there and left when she was one year old.
