After climbing the winding roads to the cameron highlands our coach conveniently pulled up outside our hotel. As we stepped out we immediately felt the cooler fresher air which made a welcome change from the humidity. The town was pretty ugly but had beautiful hilly surroundings. Tired from our journey we grabbed a Chinese meal just a few streets away from our hotel and went to bed. The next day we explored the city and just about covered everything on the map, by foot! Malaysia had been under British rule until the 1950's and this was very clear from the architecture found in Georgetown.
