Today I woke up on the train in a bad mood, but things just got better from there. Hoi An is gorgeous!! I am loving Vietnam more and more everyday. Every town we go to I am like this is my new favorite place.
We walked around the old town and had lunch. There are cobble stone streets and the shopping area is blocked off from cars so you can just walk in the streets.
Every second shop here is a tailor. Albert showed us the tailor he recomemnded. We all picked something to have made. Some people had pictures of what they wanted, but I just picked two dresses out of their many catalogs. First you pick the design and then the fabrics and then they measure you up. I picked a summer dress that is short in the front and long in the back and a long sleeve business casual dress. We came back 6 hours later and they had our stuff done already. They refitted us and told us to come back tomorrow once they had made the corrections. The dresses looked great! Completely exceeded my expectations. It is amazing how fast they whip up these beautiful clothes.
I also ordered a pair of sandals. Again you pick the style you want, then the leather and they measure your feet to custom fit.
In the afternoon, I went down to the pool and did some shopping. The shopping is amazing here! I would come back just so i can get more clothes and shoes made. They have nice fabics and make beautiful things.
For dinner we went for all you can eat spring rolls. They put greens, cucumber, fried spring rolls, rice paper, pork, fried vegetables and rice pancakes on the tables and then you make your own spring rolls. They were delicious.
Then we walked around the old town. At night Hoi An is even more beautiful than during the day. There are lanterns and lit candles everywhere. There is a river by the main street and the reflection of the lights is gorgeous. Then the rain started so we all took a taxi back to the hotel and had an early night. I am looking forward to sleeping in this hotel room tonight!
