Our walking tour began at the New College of Oxford, one of the 38 colleges that make up the university. Each college has its own dining hall, church, dormitories and library which creates the academic community for the students at that college. It was amazing. Our journey to explore the Cotswolds began in Painswick, a small, not very touristy village. Lovely cemetery and topiary. From there to the most touristy village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Began our day with a 2 hour, free, walking tour of Bath. Our guide was a very enthusiastic policeman who was knowledgeable (we think), entertaining and full of local lore. Had lunch in the park, then off to the baths. The Roman Baths, filled with thermal water, put Bath on the map. Fascinating! Beer at our local pub and off to dinner. Good Thai food.
