After sleeping in one of the best service stations ever.... brand new, very clean & best of all, free showers! (It’s the small things when you are living in a crib!) Craig made friends with a polish murderer……. Sorry, trucker!! If anyone has ever seen the movie euro trip you will have a good picture of this chap in your mind right now! Doors locked and double checked that night; I was clever and hid in the back of the crib whilst he was stuck talking to him!

We decided to explore what Port Macquarie had to offer.... the first being a pancake shop mmmm! After a quick stop at the visitor centre afterwards, we decided to do the lighthouse walk which had us trekking beside the ocean front for couple of miles.... once again watching the daredevil surfers tackle the mammoth waves!

During the late afternoon we took a trip out to visit a koala bear hospital.... we had been told a daily tour started at 3pm and luckily made it just in time! The hospital is run by volunteers and takes in all sick and injured koala bears..... they are so cute! We were shown around the mini hospital and introduced to the koala bears currently receiving treatment.... luckily the koala bears were all awake as they are renowned for sleeping 20 hours a day... the eucalyptus plant sends them to sleep like a hangover for humans! We were surprised to learn that when a koala bear gives birth to a baby joey.... it’s only the size of a jelly bean!
