When we arrived in Alice Springs it was nice to see Daniel as we had only spoken over the last 3mths, I don't know how many people know but he has a job in Alice Springs building and Mel is working in Harvey Norman at Traralgon. It was great to have tea with him. We arrived at Uluru yesterday, parked the van and then headed to the Olgas they were spectacular, we did quite a few walks and then went to Uluru for the sunset. It was like peak hour in Melb, cars and buses came from everywhere it was a perfect night and Jim got quite a lot of photos. Of course if you do the sunset you must do the sunrise, so up we get at 5am have breakky and head to the rock. It was just the same as the night before people everywhere just a few degrees cooler. At 8am we decided to do the base walk of Uluru it is about 10 and 1/2 kms long, it took us 2hrs and by the time we finished I think the temp would have been about 30 degrees. We came back to the van and cooled down with the air con. We are heading down the street to see a cultural dance so that should be cool. I will post some more photos of our travels soon. Tomorrow we are off to Kings Canyon and then make our way back to Alice by Sunday.
