Well we have finally decided to record our trip online. Hope that you enjoy some of our travel experiences and photos. We have had some great travels so far and met some really nice people. At Normanton we met a lovely couple, Lisa and Andy and of course Charlie a beautiful dog. It had been so hot there 43" that we decided to stay an extra day. Lisa and Andy were heading the same direction as us so the Sat morn 22nd we all headed towards Cloncurry, stopping for a quick drink at the Bourke & Wills Roadhouse. Sunday morning 23rd Lisa, Andy & Charlie headed off towards N.T.
The next morning we left Cloncurry at 7am, we drove to Winton & had a head wind all the way, (our fuel usage doubled it was amazing), Winton was a nice little town we visited the Waltzing Matilda Centre it was quite good. (Another hot day thank heavens for the air conditioner). Next day we did a day trip to the Longreach Stockmans Hall of Fame, this was on Jim's to do list and it was great.
Wednesday morning and off to Mt Isa another long day on the road, fires had blocked the highway the day before so we were lucky that it was open again, the fires were still burning but no danger to anyone. Spent the night at Mt Isa and then on the road again towards Barkly Homestead R/house. The were roadworks just after Cammoweal and they went for about 10kms, needless to say that we will be getting the red dust out of everything for the rest of the trip. When we arrived at the roadhouse we realised that we had driven the whole way with the keys in the caravan door, how lucky were we.
The drive to Tennant Creek was interesting as we had side winds most of the way we stayed at Outback Caravan Park, we went for a drive to Bill Allen Lookout and saw another beautiful sunset.
This morning we left Tennant Creek at 8am and headed towards Alice Springs on the way we stopped at Devil's Marbles they are amazing. Today has been the coolest day for a long time it even rained on the way, so it was very nice walking outside around Devils Marbles. At the moment we are at Ti Tree Roadhouse we arrived here at about 12.00pm & hope that we are going to be able to watch the grand final and as luck would have it we can, what a game.
Tomorrow morning we are heading off early to Alice Springs we will be there for a couple of nights then on to Ullaru.
