Getting a group of friends together and all riding motorbikes around a small Thai island, stopping at various cafes and beaches.

Racing up and down a rapid infested river on a speedboat that could do jumps and spins and throw you about a lot.

A boat trip out to see some of Fiji's prettiest little islands and beaches. A great crowd and an all inclusive drinking policy helped make this good

A drunk day out visiting some beautiful waterfalls with a good host.

Jim's birthday treat, walking around the outside top of the tallest tower in the Southern hemisphere, very scary.

Two night boat cruise around one of the most stunning group of islands in the world. Day activities included visiting Whitehaven beach, the second best beach in the world and snorkeling in the great barrier reef.

13. Supertrike, New Zealand Score 7.5

A weird giant tricycle bike with a lot of power, drove around Napier for a bit. We liked the bits where we went very fast.

12. Chiang Mai Cooking Class, Thailand Score 8

Lessons in how to make a curry, helped us make amazing food.

11. Waiheke Winetasting tour, New Zealand Score 8.5

Great wines, good company, interesting facts and we all ended up in the pub for the evening

10. Bali Batik making, Bali Score 8.5

Sat in a Balinese unattractive house in the heat making (fairly rubbish) batik paintings. It doesn't sound fun but doing it with Donna's parents just seem to leave us having lots of fun and taking home great memories.

9. Knifemaking, New Zealand Score 8.5

A unique activity that summed up New Zealand's charm. Having fun with other participants, a fun and funny host couple and a knife each at the end to take home with pride.

8. Dolphin day out, Mexico Score 8.5

Our last activity of our trip and going out in style, combining a great ferry ride, a lovely lunch overlooking the sea, riding a scooter one last time and of course swimming with dolphins.

7. Marlborough Food and Wine Festival, New Zealand Score 9

A festival that combined some amazing wine with lots of good music, some ok food and lots of fun people to meet.

6. Waterbom, Bali Score 9

Possibly the most childish activity that made this list but the best waterpark in Asia was rightly named, not only lots of high fast rides but so much variety and fun across the day that it brought lots of smiles and happiness.

5. Xel-Ha, Mexico Score 9

Great combination of drinking and fun set in a beautiful natural estuary with rock jumping, lazy rivers, wild life spotting, a lovely free bar and lots of giggles.

4. Speedboat day, New Zealand Score 9

Driving your own speedboat around the Marlborough Sounds, one of the most beautiful places in the world. The fact that this was so unusual helped elevate this activity but more importantly it was just so much fun.

3. Koh Yao Noi boat trip, Thailand Score 9

A day trip out to various local beaches. The sort of trip that slightly ruined all future boat trips as they just weren't as good, as weren't as beautiful, as weren't as much fun. Helped by some lovely friends we took along the way and the last minute decision to go.

2. Helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, USA Score 9

An activity that just has so much wow factor. Taking a little helicopter over the biggest canyon in the world, landing for afternoon tea and then flying home again. This was made special for sharing it with Jim's parents.

1. Fraser Island Trip, Australia Score 10

Three day trip driving a big 4x4 around the largest sand island in the world. Three days of amazing varied activities, great people to hang out with, a wonderful guide and camping out under the stars. A happy experience throughout. A great final farewell to our time with Chloe.
