Dear Aaron

Thank you for buying us the airport breakfast. It really starts your travels off with excitement, sitting in Heathrow airport waiting for our flight to be called, everything is packed and ready, all checked in and we can finally relax and start enjoying our honeymoon.

The good thing about airports is that, like being at a festival or being a homeless person on the street, it is one of the few places in society where it is perfectly acceptable, or even encouraged to drink a pint of beer or two at 8 in the morning. So that is what we are doing. I think it still counts as a breakfast if it is in liquid form.

So as we head off on our journey, the last few days have been a plethora of firsts and lasts. For example, last night we decided to stay in a hotel at heathrow to avoid having to get up early. This was in fact our first night away from home. We stayed in the Sheridan. it was vey posh and nice. Unfortunately we had a bottle of champagne (thanks Val and Tony) and a bar that sold very nice mojitos so we didnt really manage the nice and refreshed start to the morning.

As for lasts, yesterday I had my last scotch egg for 7 months. As anyone who as been to foreign lands knows, scotch eggs are a truly british phenomenon. Some may say that we did in fact build an empire on its sausage/breadcrumbs/boiled egg brilliance and who am I to argue with that. Sad to say the rest of the world hasn't yet caught on. Oh what they are missing!

So while going away is going to be exciting, the idea of not having a scotch egg again for 7 months is a sad one. Note I know you can technically get scotch eggs in New Zealand, while these are called scotch egg they are a bad cover version (Sorry Aaron I know I am meant to be thanking you and not slagging off your country. New Zealand has lots to offer the world but the ability to make a good scotch egg is not one of them).

Now I have got that off my chest, Donna, shall we get another pint in? Oh s***, does that say our gate is closing? Quick run...
