Oh well here we are in India, Ga didn't think she'd like the country but she was pleasantly surprised and we're both enjoying it. Tues 25th Oct arrived in Delhi, very busy capital city, the roads are grid locked with lots of honking horns, next morning had a full day sightseeing, visiting Old & New Delhi (Old was great), Red Fort, Jama Masjid (India's largest mosque), Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi's cremation site), Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Delhi's largest Sikh temple), Humayun's tomb in beautiful gardens with the towering Qutub Minar, rickshaw rides and much more. It was a long and tiring day, then up at 6 for the flight to Varanasi. Thurs afternoon we visited Sarnath a Buddhist pilgrimage site, followers from all over the world visit this ancient area, we saw monks from lots of different countries, preaching to Buddhist followers. Up at 5 this morning for a sun rise boat ride on the river Ganges, witnessing people bathing, some doing their laundry and they also cremate their dead on the banks (you've got to see it to believe it). After breakfast we visited The Monkey Temple, but no monkey's, Temple Kashi Vishwanath 800 kg of gold cover the two domes but not being Hindu we weren't allowed near it but other Temples impressed us. We have a flight to Khajuraho in the morning, it's all go but enjoying it and no dodgy tummies yet fingers crossed !!!! John & Gail.
