We're here for six days, spent the first three in a desert palace originally built for a sheik and it was a beautiful resort in the middle of nowhere, 5 star luxury but very expensive £10 a pint of Stella or a glass of wine, but every evening they had a happy hour (well two actually) so we made use of half price drinks ha ha. Now in Dubai tomorrow off to Katmandu, we both didn't think much of this city nice beaches but construction going on everywhere and huge roads with masses of cars (the car is king) and you wouldn't believe the size of the shopping malls, one has a 400 metre long sky slope and an olympic skating rink another has the biggest aquarium in the world with the tallest building in the world just outside (see photo taken at night). We did the tourist things yesterday the old town was the best with gold and spice souks and a big bazaar but they pester you all the time (300tons of gold are imported every year) resting today clothing out tomorrow.
