Thurs 24th Nov, up 5:30 early morning game drive, saw more wild life yesterday afternoon, could of had a lie in !!! Later went to an Elephant Orphanage/ Rehabilitation Centre, watched the orphans receive their milk, photo shows the smallest one who was only weeks old and very cheeky. After Ga went to the local Doc in a tin hut at a small village, he was very through the consultation and three lots of medicine cost £2.30p a bargain

Sunday 20th, visited Dambulla Rock Temple, dating back to 1st Century BC after a short but steep hike you reach 5 caves they all have lots of Buddha's carved out of the rock one spanning 15 metres. Then drove to Kandy, early evening went to a traditional Sri Lankan music, dance and drumming show and it was very enjoyable. Monday morning went to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, masses of Buddhist pilgrims come to glimpse the golden casket that allegedly holds...

Here we are in sunny Sri Lanka, we arrived late 16/11/16 to a thunder storm and it's rained every day, they told us the monsoon is late,locals are pleased because they need the rain but we're not that chuffed. Thurs morn we made our way to an elephant orphanage and watched them bathe in the river (see photo) Ga fell in love with them all.
