Candidasa, Bali

After having a great breakfast at the hotel (eggs, toast and fruit... with my name written on the plate!) I got my beach bag ready and met in the lobby at 10:00. Mariam, Rita, Jade, Tanya, Geetl and I all got into our van and did a short ride to the beach. We sat out with chairs and umbrellas in front of a restaurant. They kept asking us if we wanted massages but we told them "later."

We put on our sunscreen and enjoyed the great weather and beautiful scenery. I decided to feel out the water and it was so warm! And it was pretty clear. I kept going back and forth between laying out and jumping in the water to cool down. Some of the waves were pretty crazy but when I was just floating on top of them it was very peaceful.

Around 1:00 we decided to have lunch. I got a chicken salad and a tomato soup. My chicken salad was very salty and my soup was basically stewed tomatoes in broth. Not the best lunch but it only cost about $4. We then went back to lay out. I got to read a lot of my book and just relax and work on my tan.

Around 2:30 I decided to get a massage right there on the beach. For $7, I got a full body massage for 1 hour. It was nice but a little too sandy.

At around 3:45, we started to pack up and we got our cab back to the hotel at 4:00. When I got back, I decided to lounge around before showering.

At 7:00, I met everyone for dinner. By 7:15, Gede hadn't shown up so we went across the street for dinner without him. Someone went to knock on his door and apparently he was sleeping. He promptly got up and met us for dinner pretty soon after.

The restaurant had live music. It also had a bar with bright string lights and funky art. I ordered a steak with pepper sauce and fries and salad... for $6.50. It was great! I had missed steak because all I've really had here is chicken.

After dinner we listened to music and just hung out. A lot of people ordered drinks (not me!) and it was cool just to listen to music and relax. Around 10:00, I decided to go back and use the wifi before bed. I hung out in the lobby with Tanya and Andy for a while. I then headed off to my room to finish packing.

Off to Ubud!
