Bali
So this morning was horrible. I woke up feeling okay but as soon as I went in the bathroom to change I felt super dizzy, lightheaded and shaky. I had really bad stomach pain and after I went to the bathroom I just laid back down in my bed and snacked on a cereal bar. I thought I was just maybe hungry so when I finally felt okay I went out to the restaurant for breakfast.
I ordered eggs, toast, tea and fruit. When the tea came I sipped on it and had a bite of toast and a bite of fruit. When the eggs came I thought I was going to throw up. I told the server I had to leave and took the fruit with me. I was super shaky and went back to the room and straight to the bathroom again. After about 20 minutes of laying down again, I finished packing my bag and brought my stuff outside.
Everyone asked me how I was feeling and I told them I felt horrible. I took some Imodium and headed to the bus hoping I wouldn't feel horrible during our day's journey.
Our first stop was going to be a hot spring on our way to Kintamani. On the way there we stopped for some scenic pictures. We even saw a funeral procession with everyone dressed up in colorful outfits.
We got to the hot springs and immediately got in because we only had about 30 mins. The water smelled like sulfur and wasn't clear like the hot springs in Costa Rica. The floor felt really slimy, too. I went in for a while and then decided it was kind of gross so I got out.
We had quite a bit of driving to do to get to Kintamani. On the way there after the hot springs, we stopped in the beach town Lovina (short for Love Indonesia) for lunch. Geetl and I decided to go have pizza while the rest of the group had seafood on the beach. Rita joined us later and just had juice. I had a margherita pizza that tasted great.
We got back on the bus to go to our hotel. It was a scenic drive, especially once we saw Mt. Batur. Our hotel had straight on views of the volcano and the lake and it looked like a postcard. You could even see where the volcano had erupted in 1962 and had burned a whole village on one of its sides.
We got to our room and just enjoyed the views and relaxing for a while. Around 7 pm we met for dinner in the hotel restaurant. I just ordered a pasta pomodoro because I didn't want to hurt my stomach anymore than it already did. It wasn't great but I did enjoy it because it was different.
Around 8:30, I decided to get to bed because I wanted to be ready to hike up Mt. Batur at 3 am.
Until next time!
