I'll start with the weather as I know how we English love to talk about it, well so much for needing our hats, scarves and gloves, it's been 18 degrees most days! However it is staring to get a little chillier so I might regret writing that.
We arrived in Toronto last Tuesday night after a long old coach journey, which of course I fell asleep for and Jem only had my Ipod as company. We stayed with a lovely couple (I have to write that as they will be reading this at some point ) Isabelle and Linkon aka Linkabella who took such great care of us. As Jem and I had been ill for a few days we decide to rest for a bit by watching series 4 of Greys Anatomy and while I would sleep Jem would play Rock band. Seriously guys if you want her to come home early just buy her that game as she is well and truly addicted! We did manage to get out the one night and catch up with Luke and James Potter and our good old friend Alanis Morrisette - Isn't it Ironic!
We move in with the Lester family at the weekend where Chloe is watching out for us by organising Beer Festivals which we can't get into No we've had a great few days with her family and met lots of different people. We have been witnessing and to the meetings (one where we had a very interesting surprise but you'll have to ask Jem about that) a non thanksgiving dinner as there was no gravy and we got to watch an American Football tournament, where we saw Jason Duck - Traitor
Yesterday though has to be the best experience of the trip so far. Isabelle picked us up and took us firstly to a wine vineyard where we got to try ice wine. They wait until the grapes are frozen to -7 degrees and then use 100 bunches to make 1 bottle of wine. It was super sweet, like syrup. Then we went to Niagara Falls. I cannot describe how truly breath taking it was, I wish you all were there to experience it with us. I'm afraid the pictures and short video will have to do though. We caught the boat "Maid Of The Mist" which takes you right up to the fall - it seriously felt like you were in it.
Okay I'm going to end with a bit of History........The left hand side of the fall belongs to the USA and the right hand side belongs to Canada. Each year 1 1/2 inches errode due to the pressure it creates. Also I'm sure Jem would like you to know (as she has told me 3 times already) that lake Ontario is 1/2 the size of England - Oooooooo
That's about it for our first week in Toronto and your educational lesson for the week.
Till next time
Tars and Jem
