Around the World Forever
First of all, it should be said what the Greek Islands are NOT versus what I thought they would be. They do not have much white sand or palm tree lined beaches. The islands are actually quite rocky and barren, appearing almost desert like. There are very few birds and the sea life you see while snorkeling is of the rather dull and colorless variety. The water is also cooler than the Caribbean Sea which is what I'm used to. In my ignorance, I wasn't aware of any of this. This isn't a bad thing and certainly doesn't change the sailing experience that much but for some reason I thought they were more lush and tropical. They are said to be some of the world's most beautiful islands and in their own way, they are.
Sailing to Skhoinoussa was great; our first opportunity to put wind in the sails and lean the boat over on its side a little. This was the perfect place to recover from the pirate like behavior from the night before.... if it weren't for Dave introducing drinking games.
Next stop: Naxos
