Since the 1960s, Mykonos has been famous for its gay scene, decadent parties, and nice beaches. Not that much has changed since then except that the heterosexual crowd decided that the gays were having way too much fun and invaded their turf; the bars and daytime beach clubs. It seems to be a mixed crowd these days with a whatever you like attitude as long as your having fun and drinking the $13 dollar beers (seems Greece knows how they are going to pay back Germany for their loans after all).

Getting to Mykonos was our most difficult day on the water. We had to motor due north directly into the wind and huge swells. This had one of the girls puking her brains out and most of the others others just hanging on to their breakfast. I didn't think a 50 foot boat could come slamming down so ******* the water after jumping each wave.

The other highlight of Mykonos is the traditional way of life that somehow co-exists right along side the bars and restaurants. The locals literally live right down the street from clubs that thump out out the music until four AM each night. It would be enough to drive anyone mad in less than a couple hours but they tolerate thousands of tourists walking past their front door daily. Mykonos Town is also the best village to witness the maze like layout that was designed to confuse raiding pirates. It makes for some pretty cool photos especially knowing these are real homes for real families. Really liked it here and as long as I am not drinking Ouzo and $13 dollar beers, life is good.
