Day 20 & 21 - 2.00am start to get to the Amman airport, some technical hitch with my ticket, had to buy another ticket (ouch!!), separated from the rest if the team, but still managed to get to Heathrow OK (10hrs later) and there was cousin Nigel. Phew!! Lots if talk, cups of coffee and 2 hours layer Sam turns up - highlight of the trip!! A low and high day for sure - all good. Heard a good quote the other day - that losing is actually OK as losers get to learn more.
We braved the English traffic and made it to Nigel’s place - meet wife Fay and son Tom, fabulous home cooked meal and crashed into bed at 8.30.
Day 21 - full on action - struggling to keep up with the blog. This was a day catching the train into London (£80 for 3 of us - ouch!!) - then doing the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour, a river cruise, and a visit to the Tower of London - all with cousin Nigel as the tour guide. It was all the bog standard tourist stuff you all know - the best bit being in the presence of Sam, Nigel and my old mate Seaton. The humour was fabulous and we particularly enjoyed the tour guide on the boat - a Cockney with a great turn of phrase - like the Museum of Modern Art had free entry - which was about what that s***e was worth to see. Walked a long way, few pubs, lots of sights, sad to see NZ House closed fir renovations and looking very much in need of them.
Then finally back to Nigel’s and another great English meal cooked by Faye.
