Well today was a day of surprises. We rode the underground to Buckingham Palace, planning to see the changing of the guard which happens every day at around 11 am but upon arriving we were informed that Obama was coming instead! So we waited around with the huge crowd for about an hour and, sure enough, a convoy of cars arrived and we could just catch a glimpse of him waving from the backseat before he entered the palace grounds. So now I can say I was within 10 feet of Obama! Afterwards they had the changing of the guard and there was a 21 gun salute in the nearby Green Park which had the whole crowd running back and forth trying to catch it all. After all the excitement died down, we walked around a bit through the park before heading to Harrods. This place is ridiculous so we just spent a short time walking through a couple of the departments (my favorite was definitely the food one). We took a brief look in the Victoria and Albert Museum but plan to return tomorrow to see more. Ended the day by exploring the National History Museum next door. There's so much to see in London, we're sure to be busy for the rest of our days here. I'll let you know what happens!
