So what have I been up to...well all pretty much same same (i dont mean that to sound bad!)...the last weekend (5th/6th) took a long over due city tour...typical tourist!!! But it was good to get all the history and stuff...we also went to outside the city, to the over side of the park and up into some of the wooded hills overlooking the place, which gave some amazing views. We finished up at a HUGE church which can seet something like 100k people? I have pictures.
So, my average week is divided between spanish classes, and teaching English at Intercultural and they also throw a load of activites for foreigners like a culutural exchange etc... thats really cool, every Mondays. A free get together where speakers of all different languages come together to practice for 2 hours, an hour in one language, an hour in the other. Great chance to meet people. Speaking of spanish, I can hold conversations and I understnd pretty much everything people say etc... so pleased with this, its so cool to think i can more or less properly speak another language! And the loving learning the very different argentine accent, and all the swear words. This guys here swear LOADS. I heard an old lady the other day say puta madre, which is basically f··k sake, the f··ker (literally means mother f··ker)
What else? Met some new people this week, a group of LOCALS! Met there from a local girl who studies English, who I met through my canadian neighbour. All very confusing. I wish I had the time to write more about it! At last, no more other foreigners for friends! We went out, with a group of Ozzies and New Zealanders (the locals are English students), well typical Argentine style we went out at like 1am (on a wednesday night!), to a bar on Aritisides, the amazing posh swanky (i cant think of any other words for it!) FULL with bars :), the bar was called Por Aca, and is basically like cleaner black sheep, and a bit better decorated, with a mix of black sheep and lloyds music (yeh 90% in English!), and it´s full of foreigners (there are loads of hostels on aritisides)...tried some wierd brazilian cocktail, and a proper latino mojito, got drunk, danced, got a cab there and back, and got home at 7.30ish, having spent all of about 13 quid...best not get used to that!.
Any way time running thin, will update on the latter part of this week...
