Jan's Travels
On the way to Monument Valley, Emi stopped for lunch at a point we could overlook the Valley, called Muley Point. I was terrified as we were so high up.
Went to the Valley which is on Indian reservation land called navajo land. (Hannah you can imagine how I pronounce these places) The land is covered in strange rock formation which all have names. I liked the 3 sisters - wonder why?! Stayed just outside the valley at a cowboy ranch, which is run by Rusty and Betty. We reckon Rusty is about 80-90 but no one is certian not even Betty! To say our night was an expereince is an understatement, they have no running water or electricity and the toilet is a hole in the ground!
It was actually really good fun. Started the night by going going on a cowboy ride. The track we took was lovely and the horses were good. Only got to take things slow unfortunately but it was still fun.
Due to the conditions, a few drinks were on hand at night to take the edge off the reality of where we were staying. Everyone had a good few and we all played Beer Pong, Team Scotland were the winners! Had a great laugh with everyone in the camp, slept under the stars on top of the van (away from the ants).
