Arrived in Sydney via the harbour bridge and opera house, quite an ampressive sight! Decided to stay at Bondi for the first few days. Stayed at the backpackers we are booked in to for Christmas, not such a great idea! Not a very clean place, we'll be getting the hoover out ourselves if we are staying there for the festive period! Byron bay! So glad to get out of Surfer's. Stayed at the Holiday Village. It was Melbourne Cup when we were there so went out for the day to celebrate. So many people all dressed up in hats and dresses, just like Royal Ascot.. Karen and I made a personal bet (loser has to sleep on the top bunk)but unfortuantely had no winners.Took a surf board and Boogie board from the hostel and didn;t get on too well. After Rainbow Beach we headed to Noosa. Stayed at Koala's, definatley no tas cute or clean as the picture at the top of this page. Walked through the National Park, along some beaches (inc a nudist) and back to Noosa Heads. Saw a Koala at the top of a tree, swaying about in the wind. Arrived at Rainbow Beach and met up with the Irish boys again. They had just arrived back from doing Fraser Island..was a pity we were days behind them, they would have been a great laugh to go with.
