Byron bay! So glad to get out of Surfer's.

Stayed at the Holiday Village. It was Melbourne Cup when we were there so went out for the day to celebrate. So many people all dressed up in hats and dresses, just like Royal Ascot.. Karen and I made a personal bet (loser has to sleep on the top bunk)but unfortuantely had no winners.

Took a surf board and Boogie board from the hostel and didn;t get on too well. Couldn't even get on the thing, it was a harder board and smaller. Some guy also told us it was broken..that's why we couldn't stand up! Didn't even do much boogie boarding, not sure what to do with it. Karen had the line attatched to her ankle before she realised it was supposed to go around her wrist. Did the walk to the Byron Bay lighthouse and the most eastern point in Oz.

Moved on to Newcastle for the night and stayed with a friend of my mum's friends (contacts) and had a great night, being fed well and having a few home comforts and my own room!!!!
